orchestral music

Pierrot    a concerto for bassoon and orchestra, commissioned by the Houston Symphony, and premiered in 2002.  Benjamin Kamins, bassoon; Hans Graf, conductor.

 

Harlequin      a concerto for bass trombone and orchestra, commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and premiered in 1997.  Jeffrey Reynolds, bass trombone; Esa-Pekka Salonen, conductor.  Published by Warwick Press 

 

Scaramouche    a concerto for cello and orchestra, premiered in 1993.  Recorded on the Koch International label, by Carter Brey, cello, and the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra, Donald Spieth, conductor.

   

    The Circus Suite   a suite in three movements for string orchestra (2004).

    O'er the Hills and Far Away     a suite for early music ensemble and orchestra.  Commissioned by the Baltimore Consort (1996).

    Music for the Great Dawn   for orchestra, with solo violin and tape (1993).

    Apotheosis: a suite in honor of J. S. Bach     for Baroque orchestra and brass quartet.  Commissioned by the Bach Choir of Bethlehem (1986).

   The Bells of St. Bride's       Commissioned by the Christa McAuliffe Foundation (1995).

      Concerto for saxophone and winds      Commissioned by the Pennsylvania Youth Honors Concert Band (1993).

    chamber music

    Music for "The Glass Menagerie"   for solo violin (2004)

    Generations   for piano quintet (1998), commissioned for and premiered by Pacific Serenades.  Version for piano trio (1999)

    Dancing in Her Sleep     for piano quintet (1994) ensemble and orchestra.  commissioned for and premiered by Pacific Serenades (1994).

    Rebel Angel     for clarinet, cello, and piano. Commissioned for and premiered by Pacific Serenades (1983).

    Bell Rock     for trumpet, organ, percussion, and tape. (1988).

    The Prayer of St. Francis      for baritone, flute, and piano (2001).

    Peronelle      a one-act opera for SATB soloists, choir, early music consort, and chamber orchestra (1991).
