Generations for String Quintet
Commissioned and premiered by Pacific Serenades, 1998. Generations celebrates the birth of my son Rory in 1997 and mourns the passing of my father in the same year.

Two Butterflies for violin and piano
Composed to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of dear friends Jack and Patty DeBellis, this short work is based on the poem of the same name by Emily Dickinson, and quotes a Mozart aria from The Marriage of Figaro. Available on the MyScore website.

Rebel Angel for clarinet, cello, and piano
Rebel Angel was commissioned and premiered by Pacific Serenades in 1989 and was revised in 2017.
According to Hebrew legend, a band of rebel angels came to earth to reveal the secrets of heaven to mankind. While so engaged, they acquired intimate knowledge of the pleasure nad peril of mortal love. For their amours transgressions, the angels were punished with eternal exile. One of their leaders, Semyaza, repented and placed himself in the southern sky, between heaven and earth–head down, feet up–in the constellation known today as Orion.

Ukioy-e: pictures from a floating world, for flute, cello, and piano
This trio for flute, cello, and piano is based on Japanese art work in the Ukioy-e style from the Edo period (17th through mid-19th century) The three movements are titled Teahouse, Jasmine Flower, and Kabuki.

SummerDance for clarinet, violin, and piano
A joyous dance in 7/8 meter for B-flat clarinet, violin, and piano. Another version exists for alto sax, violin, and piano. The trio evoke the happy and carefree spirit of two children enjoying their favorite time of the year.
